How We Do It.
To successfully engage today’s youth, we must use the interactive tools they are accustomed to and comfortable with, but we must also give them the ability to make a difference and feel empowered. Imagery is critical for training and promoting education in countries where literacy is a problem. Youth Interactive utilizes photography, video, creative writing, radio production, blogs, Skype and the Internet, to give a voice and create better life opportunities for those most in need.
We work in partnership with established schools, philanthropic visionaries, trusts, foundations, the best media professionals, reputable NGOs on the ground and we are establishing good support and collaboration with other larger charitable organizations worldwide.
We provide our partner schools with social media training, an ever-growing library of lesson plans and activities to support their curriculum. These resources are an invaluable support to schools and improve educational standards in modern communication skills, civic studies, cross cultural understanding, world economics and global citizenship.
Where there are none, Frontier schools and vocational centers are built using the funds raised by both the Hub schools and media4good. In order to further anchor the new Frontier School as an essential part of village life, Youth Interactive educational services offer multiple new uses for the parents and adults in the community.
Because the Frontier schools are multi-functional, they become a useful asset for the whole community and as a result education for the children is supported by the parents. This approach develops a more positive outlook on education and encourages keeping children in school for as long as possible.
The Youth Interactive website is an online tool where ‘young social entrepreneurs’ can safely raise funds, get creative, freely communicate and become ‘web-pals’ with other children around the globe. Most importantly 100% of hub school fundraising goes to their chosen Frontier School.
In online ‘video diaries’ students can see the real benefits as they develop, connect and engage with their disadvantaged counterparts as they in turn are brought online and into the modern, interconnected world. Seeing on film the children and the communities they choose to support enables them to realize a new level of self-esteem and take ownership of their global journey from the very start.
The Youth Interactive program results in creating a vibrant global community of young citizens working towards making a difference for their generation and provides all with the opportunity to grow into more caring and better-equipped adult citizens.
