OFFICIAL RULES FOR THE YOUTH INTERACTIVE VIDEO4GOOD CONTEST
If you are between 6 and 18 years old and not part of the Youth Interactive community, your parent/legal guardian must submit your entry to on your behalf.
Who is eligible to enter?
This Contest is open to all (between the ages of 6 to 21 years) who want to tell a story and show the world the good that some people or some things do through the eye of their creative lens. We hope these videos will help to raise awareness on all good deeds happening all over the world and help us all be kinder to each other and help make the world a better place by rewarding those that do good for others.
Who is organizing and sponsoring the Youth Interactive Contest?
The Contest is sponsored by media4good a 501c3 non profit organization and the prize money given to the winner must be spent by the winners to do good. We reserves the right to modify or cancel this promotion at any time. In the event of cancellation, media4good may substitute another creative competition in its place.
How can I enter?
The Contest starts at 12 noon (PST) on May 15, 2011 and ends at noon (PST) July 15th, 2012 (the “Entry Period”). During the Entry Period submit your video (no longer than 10 minutes in length) here. Include your name and contact details. You may enter as many times as you like. Your Submission must be your own work, entirely original and must not have been entered in any other competition or violate the rights of other parties and may not be offensive or defamatory, as determined by media4good. Media4good may choose to accept or reject your Submission based on its sole judgment. All entries become the copyright and property of media4good and will not be acknowledged or returned.
Submission and Guidelines.
The Submission must NOT contain:
- Material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights;
- Images or music that that are copyrighted, trademarked, protected by trade secret or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material;
- Material that is hateful, tortuous, defamatory, slanderous or libelous;
- Material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, age or any other basis protected by Federal, State, or Local Law, Ordinance, or Regulation; and
- Material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any state or country where the Submission is created.
Your Submission is not confidential or proprietary. You grant, and warrant that you have the right to grant, media4good a non-exclusive, non-revocable, worldwide, transferable, royalty-free, perpetual right to use your Submission in any manner or media now or later developed, for any purpose, commercial, advertising, or otherwise, including the right to translate, display, reproduce, change, create derivative works, sublicense, distribute, assign and commercialize without any payment due to you.
Any Submission that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, and obscene or otherwise does not comply with the Submission Requirements and Guidelines, as determined by media4good in its sole discretion, will not be eligible and may be removed at media4good’s sole discretion.
All entries become the property of media4good and will not be acknowledged or returned. Sponsor will collect and use any personal information provided in accordance with its privacy policy. See media4good policy here. (link to policy on media4good website).
How will you select the winners?
Around July 10th 2012, a Youth Interactive selected panel will select three (3) potential winners based on the merit of creativity, originality and impact. The winners will be notified via e-mail during the week of July 12th, 2012. Decisions of Judges are final and binding in all respects, and by participating, entrant agrees to be bound by the Official Rules laid down above by media4good and the Judges’ decisions.
What do I win?
One (1) Platinum Winner will receive one (1) $100 check to be spent on a good cause or deed of their choice, a Youth Interactive Certificate and a Youth Interactive T-Shirt.
One (1) Gold Winner will receive one (1) $50 check to be spent on a good cause or deed of their choice, a Youth Interactive Certificate and a Youth Interactive T-Shirt.
One (1) Silver Winner will receive one (1) $20 check to be spent on a good cause or deed of their choice, a Youth Interactive Certificate and a Youth Interactive T-Shirt.
Prizes are not transferable and must be accepted as awarded. The winner is responsible for taxes, if any, and any and all other costs and expenses not listed above.
What may a potential winner be required to do?
A written or filmed story of how the prize money will help do good will be required on presentation on the check and it would be wonderful and expected for transparency that the recipient then let the Youth Interactive community know (within a month of the Prize allocation) how the prize money had an effect for good.
Please – Let us know within a month of receiving your prize either via a short story from their heart, a photograph or a video.
Except where prohibited, a potential winner may be required to complete and return an executed tax form W-9 before they can receive the prize. If a potential winner declines to accept the prize, has violated any of these Official Rules, or fails to sign and return the required documents within the required time period, then an alternate entrant may be selected, at media4good’s discretion.
What other terms should I be aware of?
Unless prohibited by law, entrants must have had consent forms signed by all featured in their video and all signed consent forms must be able to be submitted for each video. All parties must have agreed to allow use of their name, voice, city/state of residence, photograph, and/or likeness for advertising and/or trade and/or any other purpose in any media or format now or hereafter known without further compensation, permission or notification.
The Contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Media4good will not be held liable for checking these facts it will be up to each person entering the contest to hold liability for the above. In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Contest is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, media4good may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the video4good Contest to address the impairment and then resume the Contest in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b) award the prize at random from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. Media4good reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the video4good Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, media4good reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by media4good to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
By participating in the video4good Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless media4good, its parent and related partner non profits and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the video4good contest or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties’ liability will be limited to the cost of participating in the video4good contest, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney’s fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
